DGL Farm Field Day: Turning Practical Knowledge into Better Yields
On 20 August 2026, Demeter Ghana welcomed farmers and agro-input dealers from across the country to the DGL Farm in Kasoa for a day of practical learning, knowledge-sharing and meaningful engagement.
Participants travelled from Demeter Ghana’s key operational zones, including the Northern and Upper Northern regions, the Middle Belt and the Southern Zone. Bringing together stakeholders from these diverse farming areas created an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss common production challenges and explore practical ways to improve crop performance and yields.
The Field Day moved agricultural learning beyond theory. Through guided farm demonstrations and interactions with Demeter Ghana’s technical and commercial teams, participants gained practical insights into crop establishment, soil and plant nutrition, effective input application and good farm-management practices.
The sessions also highlighted the importance of matching the right agricultural inputs with the specific needs of the crop at each stage of production. Farmers and dealers were able to observe crop performance at the DGL Farm, ask questions and better understand how informed agronomic decisions can contribute to stronger plants, improved productivity and more profitable farming.
For participating dealers, the Field Day strengthened their knowledge of Demeter Ghana’s agricultural solutions, enabling them to provide farmers with more informed product recommendations and technical guidance. Their role extends beyond making products available; they are important partners in ensuring that farmers have access to the right solutions and understand how to use them effectively.
The event also provided a valuable platform for Demeter Ghana to listen directly to farmers and dealers from the different zones. Their field experiences, questions and feedback offered important insights into the realities of farming across Ghana and the support required to address them.
The DGL Farm serves as both a commercial production site and a practical demonstration centre where agricultural solutions can be tested, observed and shared. By connecting field evidence with technical expertise, Demeter Ghana is helping farmers make better-informed production decisions.
